The VAT Exception Review checks all your transactions, based on a variety of VAT-related criteria, for the selected date range. The Start Date defaults to the first day of the current financial year and the End Date to the current session date. You may change the date range if you wish. Click the Run Review button to start the VAT Exception Review.

A progress status bar appears next to each item in the review during the processing. When the process is complete, the results are displayed as follows:

• A check mark next to the item indicates that no exceptions were found.

• A question mark next to the item indicates there were exceptions. To its right is a Display button. Click this button to open a report in the Report Display window that displays the details of each exception. From the Report Display window, you can zoom to more details about the information in the report, customise the report and print the report.

Check for VAT amount variances (Sales)

A question mark appears if there are any sales transactions in which the value of the VAT is different from the calculated value.

Click the Display Report button to open the VAT Amount Variance report.

Check for VAT amount variances (Purchases)

A question mark appears if there are any purchase transactions in which the value of the VAT is different from the calculated value.

Click the Display Report button to open the VAT Amount Variance report.

Check for VAT exceptions [Invoice Transactions]

A question mark appears if there are any invoice transactions in which any of the following occurred:

• No VAT code has been entered.

• The VAT code entered is different from the default VAT code for that account.

Click the Display button to open the VAT Code Exceptions [Invoice Transactions] report.

Check for VAT exceptions [Cash Transactions]

A question mark appears if there are any cash transactions in which any of the following occurred:

• No VAT code has been entered.

• The VAT code entered is different from the default VAT code for that account.

Click the Display button to open the VAT Exceptions [Cash Transactions] report.

Reconcile VAT code details with linked accounts

The total of all the VAT collected and VAT paid transactions is compared to the current balance of the linked VAT code account balance. (You specified the account that is your linked VAT code account in the VAT Code Information window.) A question mark appears if these two amounts are not identical.

Click the Display button to open the VAT Code Reconciliation report.

Company Data Auditor Summary report

When you click the Finish button in this window, a message will appear giving you the option to print a summary report of the Company Data Auditor that you just ran. Click the Yes button to print the Company Data Auditor Summary Report.

Note: This is the only opportunity you have to print this particular version of the Company Data Auditor Summary report. It is not listed in the Index to Reports. If you run the Company Data Auditor another time, you can print the summary report for that session.
