You can record credit card fees in the new Bank and Deposit Adjustments window

Credit card processors usually charge a merchant discount fee as well as other transactions fees. These fees may be deducted before the money is deposited, each time a deposit is made or as cumulative monthly deduction. In other words, it could be a separate item or the deposit could be a net amount (deposit minus fees).

To allow you to account for these fees, there is now a Deposit Adjustment button in the Prepare Bank Deposit window. When you click this button, the Bank and Deposit Adjustments window opens.

• The top half is the Fee and Cash Back section where you enter fees charged by your credit card processor -- fees that are deducted before the bank deposit is made. You may also use this section if, instead of depositing the total amount of a deposit, you keep part of the deposit as cash.

• The bottom half is the Adjustment for Excess Funds section where you enter a positive adjustment if you have more funds ready for deposit than you can account for.

The transaction you record in the Bank and Deposit Adjustments window will appear in the Prepare Bank Deposit window. It will be automatically included in the bank deposit; that is, the Deposit column in the Prepare Bank Deposit window will be marked.
