You can now choose to keep or purge certain types of transactions during the Start a New Financial Year process. Previously, this process purged all the previous year's transactions. You can now choose to keep transactions for up to seven years.
It is important to evaluate the benefit of keeping transactions, as any additional information increases the size of your company file and can slow system performance.
Using the Start a New Financial Year Assistant, you can choose to keep or purge the following types of transactions:
To keep transactions when starting a new fiscal year, select the Keep Closed Transactions from Prior Financial Years option and select a year in the Keep From This Date Forward field.
You can purge closed transactions at any time by going to the relevant command Centre and selecting Purge from the File menu.
